Mwai Yeboah was born in Zambia and is the founder of a number of businesses and brands that spotlight Africa. She’s also an award-winning destination wedding planner and designer currently based in the UK. She helps clients plan luxury weddings to Africa and multicultural, multi-day weddings around the world. Mwai is also a speaker, blogger, editorial shoot stylist, venue consultant, student mentor, and author of two books.
Mwai uses her influence in the weddings and events industry to shine the spotlight on overlooked luxury destination wedding and honeymoon locations in Africa and, more specifically, Zambia to help boost tourism and support local businesses and creative entrepreneurs. In an effort to rebrand Africa as more than just a safari and volunteer destination, but a beautiful continent with diverse landscapes and endless opportunities, Mwai also partners with resorts and adventure companies in engaging ways to increase awareness and reach in the luxury travel market. Mwai’s been featured on multiple well-read wedding industry blogs and magazines and in major newspapers in Zambia and London.
Mwai was named the Best Wedding Planner UK 2018 and Best International Wedding Specialist 2019 by Lux Magazine. In 2019, Michelle Obama invited Mwai as a VIP attendee to her “Becoming” book tour in Amsterdam, and in 2014 she was named by industry peers to the Top 100 Honor Roll for the Wedding Industry Honor Roll.
Mwai was on the floral design team for the wedding of one of Asia’s richest families with a guest list of 1,200 attendees and a design plan that was days in the making!
She was also on the design team for a very prominent royal wedding that took place at Palais Liechtenstein.
Mwai holds a BA in Business Studies and Accounts, Masters in Business Administration, and Level 7 CIM Accredited Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management. With more than 15 years in the events industry, Mwai’s traveled the globe planning high-end weddings and events.
Before she founded Love From Mwai, Mwai was appointed the wedding specialist for the Town Hall Hotel in London and also served as the Events Manager for special events for the Chelsea Harbour Hotel. Mwai was also the brand ambassador for the Model United Nations in Zambia from 2000 to 2010 and attended MUN conferences in Oxford, Germany, and the Hague Convention. She was also awarded a United Nations internship where she gleaned first-hand experience in the world of public policy and diplomacy.
