It is truly one of the most peaceful and luxurious places to stay along Victoria Falls, and one of my 2 favorite places in all of Zambia.

It is also my go-to accommodation for business travel. My team and I travel to Livingstone, Zambia often for destination weddings and editorial shoots, and we spend a significant amount of time here. There is nothing like falling into their lush, king-sized beds after a demanding day of editorial shoots or wedding coordinating. And nothing beats stepping onto the patio first thing in the morning with a cup of tea in hand as you take in the quiet river sounds and breathtaking views. I could spend all of my days here.

Tongabezi—Victoria Falls Luxury Lodge – The Lodge – 6 Private Houses and 5 River Cottages
Inside the main reception, you’ll find the most inspiring shop filled with handmade work by local artists and entrepreneurs from other parts of Africa along with a wide variety of African decor and artifacts to take home. When you walk into the reception area, you’ll experience warm hospitality as you’re greeted with a welcome drink.
They also have the most divine plunge pool and lounge area which is the perfect place to unplug, read that book on your list, or laugh and splash with your family and friends.
The lodge itself offers 6 private houses and 5 river cottages, each with their own unique charm and aesthetic. While every house and cottage is remarkable, my two favorite houses are the Nuthouse and Treehouse.
The nuthouse has a private balcony with a private pool that overlooks the Zambezi river. The king sized bed has a canopied mosquito net, and the atmosphere of the room is so tranquil, intimate, and refreshing.
You’ll find a refreshing and exhilarating outdoor shower on your own private deck.
The bathroom also has a claw foot bathtub for a deep and relaxing soak.
Every inch of the house is filled with warmth, African zest and wonder. From the wood burning stove to the unique accents lights and lamps, it’s filled with the most incredible light and charm.
The treehouse is an incredible house set among the branches of three Ebony trees. It is truly a treehouse and staying in it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You truly feel like you’re a part of the surroundings, and the views are incredible.
The treehouse features a king sized bed with a canopied mosquito net and the bathtub has an incredible claw foot bathtub for soaking.

At Tongabezi Lodge, you can dine with other guests or at a private table on one of three decks. They also have a beautiful new dining room and bar.
You can also “experience a Sampan anchored offshore in the Zambezi River, attended by waiters who deliver each course by canoe”. I’ve experienced so many delights at Tongabezi and this experience is next on my list! Doesn’t it sound delightful?!
You also have the option to dine on white sand on Sindabezi Island with your own private chef or on the elevated deck at Tangala House with its own kitchen, dining area, and veranda. It’s a dream for dining under the stars!
The Tongabezi restaurant has an incredible lunch menu that features fresh bread, soup, crisp and fresh salads, and delicious wraps. All of their food is prepared by a phenomenal chef, and they source ingredients locally so there is a variety of fresh fruit and vegetable options, according to the season.
