How to Get Glowing Bridal Skin for Your Wedding in 3 Months
Guest blog by Mya Sialwiindi

I’m excited to welcome guest blogger Mya Sialwiindi to my blog today to share her tips about how to get glowing bridal skin for your wedding day.

It’s a privilege and honor to welcome her as a guest on my blog today. Mya is one of my past brides, but more than that Mya has become a great friend who I cherish.

When Mya shares about makeup and skincare, here’s what you need to know:

1. She’s a skincare and makeup genius and really knows what she’s talking about
2. She’s an actual bride who implemented these beauty tips prior to her wedding, so you’re getting trusted AND tested advice.

Ok – let’s hand it over to Mya.

Your wedding date is set and you have a million and one things to tick off your list before your big day. I completely understand how many balls you’re probably juggling. However, let me ask you a question: Is one of the items on your list your beauty regime leading up to your wedding?

If not, will you keep it the same because you have a great one down or are you one of the many who know you need to get a little more intentional about how you care for your skin?

With only a few months left to go until you’re the centre of attention, now more then ever is the time to get started on a perfected beauty regimen in order to give yourself the best opportunity to have radiant and utterly gorgeous skin.

By focusing on your skin, not only will your wedding makeup stand out because you have the perfect base to work with, but your photos will reflect the care your skin has received.

In order to get glowing skin for that infamous walk up the aisle, all you need is a little bit of intention, some patience, and a few products suited for your skin type.

So with that being said, here are 6 tips to help you get glowing skin on your big day.

1. Create a Routine

Gorgeous makeup starts with good skin. No foundation will look perfect without a smooth and exfoliated base so now is the time to study your skin. Is it dry, oily, dehydrated, sensitive? Select good skin care that suits your skin’s needs.

And, most importantly, if you are not already doing so, start a skincare routine of cleansing, toning, and moisturising every day, twice a day and you will see a difference with your skin. If you can, add in an eye serum.

My biggest tip about creating a routine is: whatever you do, don’t try any new products in the last 3 weeks leading up to your wedding. You should create a habit of taking care of your skin every day, but if you haven’t, start it now. If possible, you want to have at least 3 months to allow your skin to heal and rejuvenate.

One product I highly recommend that is suitable for all skin types is the Super Facialist Vitamin C Cleansing Oil. Not only does this beauty buy strip your face of bad oils produced during the day and night, but it also nourishes with essential oils. It’s also a killer makeup remover.

2. Drink Up!

I’m sure you’ve heard this a million times and more but I promise you, it works. Your skin looks better when you drink a lot of water. It’s the answer to youthful, fresh, glowy skin. It clears the skin of toxins and keeps spots at bay. In the run-up to your wedding, try to get at least 1-2 litres of water a day.

3. Make Healthier Eating Choices

In the 12 weeks leading up to your big day, cut out dairy from your diet. By excluding milk and cheese now, you can drastically clear up your skin. If you can bear it, try staying away from sugar, lots of sodium, and processed foods. Instead focus on green vegetables, fruits, and (again) lots of water.

A healthy, balanced diet is essential, especially considering pimples take two weeks to manifest. Greasy, processed foods contribute to breakouts so by doing this you help prevent them.

4. Get Some Zzzzzz’s

While stress levels during the planning process of your wedding may be high, your beauty rest is exceptionally important. Let me tell you something your grandmother may have warned you about—no amount of face masking, water drinking, and healthy-eating will work unless you have a good 7-8 hours sleep each night.

Sleep deprivation causes dark circles under the eyes which is definitely not a good look so make sure you are sleeping well. To get the best results, double up on your eye cream morning and night.

5. Hire Professionals to Prep Your Face

What better excuse to treat yourself than being a bride-to-be! Professional facials are a great way for an expert to look at your skin and help you understand what your skin needs and what will work, helping it to look clearer and brighter.

I love brightening facials which are known to involve a combination of masks, enzyme peels, and acid treatments to remove dead-skin buildup. I recommend starting them at least 3 months before the big day and definitely not at the last minute, as you could have a small breakout.

If you’re watching every penny, then try using DIY face masks such as The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask ( which is my personal favourite).

6. Add Supplements

Omega fish oils are fantastic for your skin. They help with inflammation, acne, and various other skin problems. It will take a few weeks to notice a difference, but take them religiously and it will pay off.

Although the above many not lead to flawless skin, it will certainly provide a perfect base for your makeup and play a huge role in ensuring that your skin’s imperfections and flaws are minimised (or even gone) by the time your wedding day arrives.

Stay disciplined, but most importantly—savour this time! It’s your special day, so soak up every moment. It’s not just your skin’s time to shine, it’s yours!
